13 Toys that Start with G

Sharing is caring!

Last year, I started my series of posts on show and tell items from A to Z to help parents (like me) who were scrambling to find a show and tell item for their kids at the last minute. I included foods from A to Z, books for each letter of the alphabet, and toys for every letter as well. I decided to dive a little deeper and create move comprehensive lists for toys that start with each letter from A to Z – and here I am sharing the list of toys that start with the letter G!

Whether you’re looking for toys that start with G for show and tell, you’re a teacher who likes to have letter-themed toys for your alphabet lessons, or you’re looking for a gift that starts with G for a special reason (maybe you’re shopping for gifts that start with the same letter as your child’s name), this list is a great way to get started!

Guitar

Music has always been a gateway to express one’s emotions. This toy guitar is the perfect toy for any toddler. Not only is it a guitar, but it also folds into a piano and drums! The children are able to play their own music, or they can play along with 12 popular songs.

Watch how creative they become once they learn how to use all three instruments. This is guaranteed to put a smile on your child’s face.

Guess Who

I absolutely loved playing Guess Who when I was growing up. It is such a fun game! You have to pay attention to detail with this game or you might miss a key clue! You pick who you are from the faces, and your opponent has to Guess Who you are by asking questions, such as “Do you have blue eyes?” if you say “No” then they flip down all the faces with blue eyes. The person who guesses their opponent’s identity first, wins!

Garfield

Garfield is such an interesting character. He won my heart just by being a cat. Yes I am the crazy cat lady. However, his love for lasagna.. I can totally agree with him on that. Introduce Garfield to your house or classroom and see if this fat kitty cat can’t put a smile on someones face.

He is super soft, so he is perfect for cuddling! He is fat and round like a ball, so if they even want to use him to play a game of hot potato, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind! I’m sure you won his vote with the word ‘potato’.

Grand Piano

Let your child experience the magic of music by playing this baby Grand Piano. This piano comes with a beginners guide and allows the child to learn at the appropriate level. Let them grow and enhance their musical abilities, and mastering their hand-eye coordination.

This baby Grand Piano produces rich and warm tones, just as the real piano does. The wood is easy to clean and very sturdy so your child can play this piano for years to come.

Gumball Machine

Hear me out on this one. I am not saying, give your child a gumball machine and let them have all the gum they want, no ma’am, no sir. This gumball machine comes with 10 numbered balls. Each number can be used to symbolize another prize, or something of that nature. These balls can surely be replaced with real gumballs and may be given to your child as a reward for doing something good, or for snack time.

The key is very easy to turn and a ball simply drops down and comes out the bottom for your little one to enjoy. This is a good beginners way to learn cause and effect.

Gears

Gears are a great way to get young minds working. Gears build critical thinking skills and aid in STEM Skills. This beginner set comes with instructions on how to build an operating machine toy with wheels and belts to allow the gears to turn. They can follow the instructions or they can use their imagination and create their very own tread mobile.

Go Fish

This is a favorite game played at my house. Not only can the toddlers play, but all ages are welcome to this game. Very easy to follow instructions for even the smallest kids. My kids play game after game after game. This classic game works the memory to remember who has asked for which card. It’s really fun watching when the kids get to tell their mom or dad “No! Go Fish!”. Priceless moments. This pack of cards actually comes with 5 other games such as Old Maid and Slap Jack. For this low price, you can’t pass it up!

Gardening Tools

Do you spend any time out cleaning your yard? Having a handy little helper is great! My kids are always wanting to help in all my activities. Whether I am raking the yard or planting flowers, they are always there to lend a hand. Getting them their own Gardening set was a great idea! They do it just for fun! If there are leaves all over the yard, they grab their rake and start piling them up. If they want to play in a mud hole, they grab their own shovel and dig dig dig, It’s awesome to watch their determination and satisfaction of a job well done.

Gold Toy Coins

What is more fun than play dollar bills? Play gold! Watch your children quickly turn into pirates as they trade and barter for the precious gold! They may want to use it as a prize and bury it and send the others on a map quest to find the hidden treasure. They can find many uses for this very cheap toy. Fun for all ages. The children can make up how much the gold is worth. One coin may be $1, or it may be $5,000. Only they can tell you.
