Last year, I started my series of posts on show and tell items from A to Z to help parents (like me) who were scrambling to find a show and tell item for their kids at the last minute. I included foods from A to Z, books for each letter of the alphabet, and toys for every letter as well. I decided to dive a little deeper and create move comprehensive lists for toys that start with each letter from A to Z – and here I am sharing the list of toys that start with the letter J!
Whether you’re looking for toys that start with J for show and tell, you’re a teacher who likes to have letter-themed toys for your alphabet lessons, or you’re looking for a gift that starts with J for a special reason (maybe you’re shopping for gifts that start with the same letter as your child’s name), this list is a great way to get started!

Toys that Start With J
The Jack-in-the-Box is a classic, much loved toy by babies and toddlers. This toy introduces children to a friendly game of peek-a-boo. Winnie the Pooh hides in the box while someone turns the crank.
The Winnie the Pooh song plays while the suspense builds until sweet Pooh Bear pops out of the box to bring a smile to the child’s face.
This toy is not scary as some of the clown style jack-in-the-box toys are. Pooh Bear is as friendly as can be.
Jumping rope is a great exercise for children and adults! This 4 pack has cute animals as the handles to encourage your children to go exercise.
Jump rope isn’t just exercise. Kids can make it into a game of double dutch where they must skip rope with two ropes, or they may see who can do the most complicated trick while jumping without stopping the flow of the rope.
Getting their hearts pumping and having a fun time all in one activity.
This jigsaw puzzle is a great way for young learners to master their geography skills of the United States. This puzzle is double-sided with one side showing only the State name and nickname, while the opposite side shows the State and capital and also has other pictures that relate to the United States.
This is a very fun puzzle that can be done by one person or as a group activity. Perfect for home or classroom.
FYI – if you like jigsaw puzzles but don’t want this one, we’ve found that the Mudpuppy brand makes great quality puzzles!
Kids love shiny things. This pack of bright colored jewels is a perfect toy to catch their eye. They can use this pack of 80 jewels as a secret treasure or as a method of play money. My children add the jewels in with their fake gold coins and act like they are the kings and queens of the world. These jewels can also be used to teach shapes. Multiple shapes are in this pack such as hearts, diamonds and circles.
Let your child experience the freedom of driving on their own with this awesome ride-on jeep toy. It only goes a max speed of 3.7 mph, so no worries of speeding and crashing into something that would injure them.
This jeep has LED lights and you can hook up any device to play their favorite music while they drive. Also, this jeep has two modes. If you aren’t comfortable with your child driving, you can steer from a remote control.
John Deere Talking Tool Belt
My kids love trying to fix things! From the time they were able to hold play tools, they have wanted to build and take things apart. This John Deere Talking Toolbelt is a fun toy for your little ones who want to pretend to work on a toy car or fix the kitchen table. These tools have 3 tool sounds and say two phrases. Get your little handy helper practicing to help you around the house when they get older.
Jurassic World Toys
Dinosaurs are fascinating creatures. Not just to kids, but to everyone. This Jurassic World toy set includes 7 large dinosaurs which is perfect for a play date. Great for education purposes or just for fun.
These dinosaurs are bendable and soft, so no worries of sharp edges injuring the children. No batteries and no breaking, which means tear and worry free. Jenga is a classic game that is fun for families or students to play against each other. This game is simple to understand and takes skill and strategy. Pull a block out and place it on top of the stack without making the tower fall.
This game brings moments that become super intense as you await the tower to rock back and forth and crash.
All kids love superheroes. This stamp set doubles as 12 action figures and 12 stamps. The kids can fight crime or create a decorative scene on paper with the stamps. Superman and Wonder Woman can pair up to fight away all the evil villains.
Jacks is a classic game that can be enjoyed by a single player but is much more enjoyable with multiple players. Jacks has been around for many years. Players take turns bouncing a rubber ball and quickly grabbing the assigned amount of jacks for the turn and then catching the ball before it bounces twice.

My children have endless amounts of energy. I’m pretty sure they could climb walls if they had the chance. The jungle gym has been an amazing addition to our yard. This particular one is 5 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It can hold up to 1,000 pounds, so no worried about a group of kids all climbing and playing at one time.
This jungle gym is very sturdy and designed to be rust resistant. Your kids can climb on this toy all day. Also, you can add a swing to the middle if you would like.
Jeopardy Card Game
Jeopardy was a big thing in my house when I was growing up. My Mama was the best at this game! They now make the game in a travel sized card game that equals up to a whole episode that you can play, including double jeopardy and final jeopardy rounds. This is for the older kids and adults. Best played with a group of three or more.
Encourage your kids to exercise with this fun game of Just Dance. It is available on Playstation. Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch. I almost guarantee that you will want to get up and dance with them (or maybe that’s just me?).
Just Dance introduces your kids to the world of dancing starting out with 40 kid-friendly songs and step by step choreography. Great for siblings or a group of friends to compete against each other to see who dances the best without messing up.
Juggling balls are bright colored and very soft. Juggling is a fun skill that can be learned at an early age. A great way to practice hand-eye coordination.
These balls are designed to evenly distribute the weight, therefore it is a smooth pass from hand to hand. When dropped, these balls will not roll away. One the skill of juggling three balls is mastered, have them try to juggle even more!
