Last year, I started my series of posts on show and tell items from A to Z to help parents (like me) who were scrambling to find a show and tell item for their kids at the last minute. I included foods from A to Z, books for each letter of the alphabet, and toys for every letter as well. I decided to dive a little deeper and create move comprehensive lists for toys that start with each letter from A to Z – and here I am sharing the list of toys that start with the letter O!
Whether you’re looking for toys that start with O for show and tell, you’re a teacher who likes to have letter-themed toys for your alphabet lessons, or you’re looking for a gift that starts with O for a special reason (maybe you’re shopping for gifts that start with the same letter as your child’s name), this list is a great way to get started!

This obstacle course is a great way to get the kids active outside. This set is very sturdy and has many options for obstacles. They can feel like real life ninja warriors as they cross the rope with difficult hoops and bars. If they just want to play, they can use this course to swing or climb the ladder. It also has an attachment that allows them to zipline at a safe height. There is a safety rope for them to step on if they think they are about to fall.
Ocean Shell Dig Kit
This dig kit is an awesome hands on activity to entice kids to stray away from screen time. The clay block contains 20 different sea shells that must be chiseled out of the dirt. Once they extract each shell, they should rinse it off and find the matching shell on the information sheet. There they can read interesting facts about each shell that they discover. Very fun for a family activity or school project.
Outdoor Climbing Pack
This Climbing pack includes 25 assorted colors of, large, easy graspable, plastic rocks that encourage your child to show off their climbing skills. These rocks can be screwed into many different surfaces. You can build your own wall, or use a large sturdy tree. We loved climbing trees when we were growing up. I can only imagine how much fun we would have had if we had access to these wonderful accessories!
These cute, snap together owls are a great learning tool for toddlers. Each owl represents a number 1 through 10, a color, and a specific shape. The heads snap on and off, so if your little one wants to mix the colors, that is fine. These owls help with early recognition of the basic numbers, shapes and colors. Make learning fun!
Octopus Light Up
This cute 10 inch octopus is a great toy for any child of any age. Very soft and cuddly for those that need a friend to hug. This octopus has LED lights that are set to go off after 15 minutes. This is a great friendly night light for those who are a bit afraid of the dark. Also, this octopus comes programmed with 10 popular nursery songs that your child can learn to sing along with.
Ooey Gooey Octopus
Everyone can appreciate a good stress ball. This particular one comes as a 7 inch octopus. Very squishy and very stretchy. This Ooey Gooey Octopus will not get your hands dirty and will not leave any sticky residue on your skin. Anytime you or your child are feeling anxious, squeeze the octopus and let the stress melt away.
The movie Frozen has captured the attention of almost every single kid across the world. This Olaf talking plush is an example as to why Frozen is so great. Not only is he the new age Frosty the Snowman, but he is funny and kind of smart. Olaf can understand commands. Tell him to sing a song, or say a fact, or tell a joke, and he will respond accordingly. To add to his performance, his eyes and mouth also move, so he gives off the effect that he is not just a toy, but a friend.
Ocean and Sand Sensory Box
Sensory boxes are a great toy for children who desire to touch and feel different textures. This ocean and sand box has the cool blue ocean beads that they can run their hands and fingers through to let them feel a water like texture. The sand comes with multiple molds so they can create ocean creatures and make up their own ocean adventure. After playtime, the beads are easy to clean, just rinse them with water. Also, if the sand gets wet, just allow it to dry and it is as good as new.
Cops and Robbers has always been a fun child game. It is always more fun when they get to dress the part. This officer costume comes with everything they need. Not just the outfit, but all the accessories too! They have their baton, gun, whistle and even a walkie talkie. This costume is sure to make them feel like the hero that they are. Watch them dress up and be your homeland security.
Chutes and Ladders meet addition and subtraction in this game of Ocean Raiders. Two levels of play, one for beginners and one for advanced. During the way up the board, you will answer addition problems and find sea creatures on the way. On the way down you will have to solve subtraction problems. This is a great way to incorporate education during family fun.
O-Ring Magnet Game
Introduce your kids to science with this fun magnet game. Up to 4 players, from very young to very old. The youngest player puts down the first card. Each card has a picture of magnets that you must replicate. Whoever finishes first gets the card. The person with the most cards wins. The trick to the game is that one side of each magnet sticks and the other side repels, so to make a gap in the magnet, you have to make sure to place the right side down. Very fun and may result in a love for science.
